The name Amesha Spenta (Aməṣ̌a Spənta in Avestan or Amahraspand in Middle Persian), meaning ‘Holy Immortals’, is first attested in Yasna Haptanhāiti and was almost certainly coined by the prophet himself. This key theological expression is applied specially to the great six divinities of Ahura Mazda’s creation. The Amesha Spentas represent qualities and attributes of Ahura Mazda himself.

Hourmazd’s birth was scheduled for November 10, 2006. But it seems he could not wait. That would fit his character. The very first time we saw him move inside, he displayed a great deal of restlessness. And it was beautiful to witness him move his legs up and down. We had a regular check scheduled for November 4. Azadeh experienced some pain in the morning and even before going to the hospital, it was clear that the birth was not far away. But we had no idea that the doctor would ask us to go back in the evening for the delivery. Hourmazd was born on November 5, 2006 at 00:45. He weighed 3700 grams and was 48 cm tall.
Even right after birth it was clear that he shared many facial features with Amitis. And this is how he looks at four months.

The seventeen hymns or the Gathas, Gāθās in Avestan, are part of the Yasnas. Many of these hymns are directed to Ahura Mazda. The Gathas were handed down orally from generation to generation and were written down under the Sasanians.
